In 1982, the dance committee of ITI founded international Dance Day to be
celebrated every year on 29th of April, as to celebrate the birthday of Jean
George’s Noverre, creator of modern ballet.
The intention of the international Dance Day message is to celebrate dance,
revel in the universality of this art form, cross all political, cultural and
ethnic barriers, and bring people together with a common language dance.
“Nataraja” is known as the lord of the dance . The Hindu god shiva in his
form as the cosmic dancer.
Shiv Tandav is a divine dance performed by the Hindu god shiva.
According to shaivism, Shiva’s Tandav is described as a vigorous dance
that is source of the cycle of creation, preservation and dissolution.
Rudra Tandav depicts his violent nature as a creator and even the
destroyer, even after the death itself. Ananda Tandav depicts his joyful
nature.
Dance brings joy and happiness to all kind of people. Let it be Ganapathi
dance or the any kind of dance performed by the performer. Its an activity
to distress , lose inhabitants of oneself.
