23rd March Shaheed Diwas
According to the history, 23rd March is celebrated as Martyr’s Day ( Shaheed Divas ). On this day, those who laid their lives for independence of your nation are given tributes.
The special tribute on this day is given to those 3 freedom fighters who easily gave their lives for our nation . Bhagat Singh, Shivram Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar were hanged to death for assassinating a British officer , John Saunders. They had mistook him for British police superintendent James Scott. It was Scott who had ordered lathi charge, which eventually led to the death of Lala Lajpat Rai.
These three were among the countless who sacrificed their lives for the nation and died when they were very young. They lives inspired countless youth and in their death, they set an example.
On this date in 1931, three young revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar were hanged to death by the British rulers in Lahore jail. The arrest of the three in the Lahore conspiracy case, subsequent hanging and cremation in Sutlej River provided ammunition to the burning pyre of revolution.
